Danish software company takes important step towards US market  

Gatehouse has gained an order to supply an Automatic Identification System solution for the Marine Exchange of Alaska
Danish software company Gatehouse, which specialises in satellite communication and systems for identification of ships, has gained an order to supply an Automatic Identification System* (AIS) solution for the Marine Exchange of Alaska, a non-profit organisation serving the Alaska Maritime Community. Gatehouse MD Niels Buus says the order represents an important step towards the US market.
The Danish Minister of Defence, Søren Gade, who was visiting Gatehouse on the day of the announcement of the order comments: "In general, I see great potential in the Danish corporate sector regarding defence industry knowledge and competences." Gade adds that the Danish armed forces is in contact with Gatehouse about using its systems in helicopters.
Gatehouse is based in Nørresundby, north Jutland. The company offers a wide range of software products for satellite communication and shore based AIS as well as consultancy services. The news was reported by financial daily newspaper Børsen.
* AIS is used for very high frequency (VHF) transmission of information about a ship's position, speed, identification and cargo – Ed.
