Copenhagen-based dialogue and relationship marketing agency EmergeWunderman and its UK sister company Wunderman London have won a DKK 550 m marketing budget for Orange UK
Copenhagen-based dialogue and relationship marketing agency EmergeWunderman and its UK sister company Wunderman London have won a DKK 550 m (USD 99 m) marketing budget for Orange UK. The Danish agency's great experience in internet marketing of telecompanies was a decisive factor in the choice of Wunderman. The agencies will help Orange attract new customers and build long-term customer loyalty.

Julian Ormerod, managing director of Wunderman London says: "We could not have won Orange UK without the deep insight and experience that our colleagues in Copenhagen have built. They have unique experience in preparing and carrying out real-time and rule-operated marketing programmes which are highly measurable."

EmergeWunderman is one of several Danish direct marketing agencies with strong competences in digital media. Others include Adpeople/Netpeople (does work for computer giants Dell and Microsoft), Framfab (Nike) and Gekko (Coloplast and Hasselblad).

Jens Carsten Nielsen of Copenhagen Business School says: "A cluster competence has been created in Denmark, where a number of agencies have significant knowledge of building customer relations on the net. The interplay between web agencies and companies has attracted really good people, so the industry is today characterised by having skilful computer people, strategists and creative people".

The news was reported by financial daily newspaper Børsen.
