LM Glasfiber gains major wind turbine blade contract in China

LM Glasfiber has entered a strategic collaboration agreement with China's leading wind turbine manufacturer Xinjiang Goldwind Science & Technology Co., Ltd
Danish wind turbine blade manufacturer LM Glasfiber has entered a strategic collaboration agreement with China's leading wind turbine manufacturer Xinjiang Goldwind Science & Technology Co., Ltd. The agreement comprises a minimum six years' supply contract of blades for the Goldwind 70/1, 500kW and 77/1, 500 kW turbines and an additional contract to develop blades for Goldwind's next generation of turbines of 2MW and above for onshore and offshore applications.
 
The blades will be delivered from a new LM Glasfiber factory currently under construction in Urumqi, Xinjiang, where Goldwind is based, as well as from LM Glasfiber's existing facility in Tianjin.
 
Wu Gang, MD of Goldwind comments: "We are pleased to expand our collaboration with LM Glasfiber by entering this agreement. Wind power is a strategic priority area in China, and Goldwind is very committed to meet our ambitious objectives. We are delighted that LM Glasfiber brings its expertise and experience into our collaboration and ensures supplies of blades for our solid product portfolio."
 
LM Glasfiber is the world’s leading supplier of blades for wind turbines, and the only supplier that operates on a global basis. The company has manufactured more than 86,000 blades over the last 28 years. LM Glasfiber is headquartered in Lunderskov, Jutland, and employs approx. 4,100 people.
