One of the world's biggest server hosting firms, Rackspace Managed Hosting, is setting up shop in Denmark, with plans to establish collaboration with 10 partners during this year. Rackspace Managed Hosting's 12,000 customers account for 1% of the entire world's internet traffic and about 4% of London's data centre interfaces. Now the company sees potential across the North Sea.

Bjørn Hougaard, head of Rackspace in the Nordic Region comments: "It seems as if Denmark has very few suppliers who offer advanced server-hosting services. Most of them are neither specialised in or known for server hosting, but have it as a subsidiary activity."

Rackspace currently sells most of its solutions through partners such as web bureaux and systems integrators. It is among these that the company will look to expand its partner base in Denmark during this year.

Rackspace Managed Hosting, which was founded in 1998 and today employs around 1,200 people, is headquartered in the US. It has customers in 57 countries worldwide. In 2006 the company's revenues in Europe rocketed by 76%. The news was reported by Computerworld.
