Retail furniture chain BoConcept has won the Danish Franchise Award 2007, having increased its market value tenfold in just two years
Retail furniture chain BoConcept has won the Danish Franchise Award 2007, presented by the Danish Franchise Association in collaboration with Dansk Erhverv, Denmark's second largest business organisation, and financial daily newspaper Børsen. The award is recognition of the fact that BoConcept has increased its market value tenfold in just two years - it now exceeds DKK 1 bn (USD 180 m).
 
Inger Fredsted, chairman of Danish Franchise Association says: "The company has some 340 exclusive sales outlets worldwide, and the model is primarily franchise. BoConcept has ensured the earnings of both itself and its franchisees, and they also have a strongly increasing numbers of franchise units".
 
The director of BoConcept, Torben Paulin, commented: "I am both happy and proud, particularly on behalf of the staff who are working a lot of hours around the world."
 
BoConcept has 170 brand stores and 250 studios in 32 countries. The company opened its first brand store in Paris in 1993, and is currently opening 2-3 brand stores and 5-6 studios every month. BoConcept is headquartered in Herning, Denmark. The news was reported by financial daily newspaper Børsen.
