Niros Communications, a leading Danish supplier of advanced voice and data solutions for professional users worldwide, has been acquired by Sweden's Radius Group for an undisclosed sum. Prior to the acquisition Niros was owned by Norway's TeleVenture Private Equity V AS.
Hans Ottosson, CEO of radius Group, says: "Niros will strengthen our product range and open new business opportunities." The acquisition gives Radius access to a strong distribution network with more than 40 distributors in 26 countries, and a substantial customer base including the Swedish Police, the Royal Air Force in the UK and Statoil in Norway.
Jørgen Lauritzen, managing director of Niros comments: "We really believe that this change will increase the international awareness of Niros and our products, and I am looking forward to a close collaboration with all our new colleagues."
Niros Communications, which was founded in 1966, is headquartered in Farum, north of Copenhagen, and has a research and development department in Støvring, northern Jutland. The company employs 45 people. Radius Group is a leader in remote control for wide area wireless networks for SCADA systems, industrial control and distribution automation.
