TDC, the leading provider of communications solutions in Denmark, and Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) have entered an IT outsourcing agreement on operation of TDC's IT infrastructure in Denmark and to supply user support in the Nordic region. The seven year contract is worth approx. DKK 2 bn (USD 360 m). 145 TDC staff will move to CSC, where they will have a two year job guarantee.
Jørgen Jacobsen, Group IT Director of TDC says: "The new agreement with CSC enables us to progress the modernisation and consolidation of our IT infrastructure operation. The agreement will also be an advantage for those TDC personnel who will be moving, since CSC is not only using their key competences, but is also interested in further developing them."
The new agreement, which replaces two former IT outsourcing agreements between TDC and CSC, comprises all IT infrastructure services, including activities in TDC's datacenter, operation of TDC's internal Nordic concern net, supplying workplace equipment and software, and support for the Nordic region. Approx. 17,000 users at TDC locations will be supported by CSC.
TDC has more than 15 million customers in Europe. It has developed from a primarily Danish provider of landline and mobile services into a Danish-based European provider of communications solutions. The news was reported by Computerworld and on CSC's website.
