USA's Hendricks Holding acquires Danish wind turbine tower manufacturer

USA's Hendricks Holding Co. Inc, an international private equity company located in Beloit, Wisconsin, has acquired Denmark's Roug A/S, a manufacturer of wind turbine towers
USA's Hendricks Holding Co. Inc, an international private equity company located in Beloit, Wisconsin, has acquired Roug A/S based in Herning, Jutland, a manufacturer of wind turbine towers. Hendricks Holding is aiming to become one of the world's leading suppliers of towers for the wind turbine industry, and as part of realising its plans will invest DKK 100 m (USD 17 m) to enlarge Roug's production capacity.
 
Jeff Lauritzen, managing director of Roug says that the company is already taking on more staff: "The number of staff could double as a result of our new owner's growth plans. "
 
Hendricks Holding employs approx. 6,000 people and generates revenues of USD 4 bn. The US group sees great potential in the wind turbine industry in Europe and the US. Jeff W. Stentz, managing director of Hendricks Holding says: "With this takeover we have entered the industry. We have plans to start tower production in the US, and have one of our own companies transport the towers."
 
Roug A/S was established in 1959, and has produced wind turbine towers since 1982. The company employs 150 people. The news was reported by financial daily newspaper Børsen.
