Denmark's Vestas Wind Systems has gained four orders for a total of 24 V82-1.65 wind turbines for a number of projects in Ontario province, Canada. The orders were placed by AIM Powergen and have an estimated value of approx. DKK 300 m (USD 54 m). Vestas' Canadian company will supply the wind turbines as well as commissioning and service & maintenance for a two year period.

The orders could lead to increased sales of Vestas wind turbines to Canada. The Ontario province authorities anticipate that a Standard Offer Program with fixed settlement rules and fast case treatment could result in investments of up to 1,000 MW renewable energy.
