Another year, another supermodel. Last summer, this website reported that Danish fashion firm Bestseller had hired Brazilian beauty Gisele Bündchen as the face of its Vero Moda brand for the 12 month period from August 2007. Time has run its course, and now comes news that Bestseller has hired Texan lovely Erin Wasson to be Vero Moda's new face for the next 12 months, writes financial daily newspaper Børsen.
Vero Moda has up around 800 of its own stores around the world, and has traditionally used top-line supermodels including Kate Moss and Helena Christensen to profile its brand globally. Erin Wasson will first feature in the campaign for Vero Moda's autumn collection, along with luscious Lithuanian model Jovita Miseviciute.
As reported on this website a few days ago, Bestseller is expanding rapidly in China to take advantage of its enormous population of fashion-hungry citizens with increasing disposable incomes. Bestseller, which opened its first store in China in 1996, now has more than 2,000 stores across the country selling its Vero Moda, Jack & Jones and Only brands. The company plans to introduce a fourth brand, Selected, in China next month.
Bestseller is based in Brande, Jutland, and today employs more than 39,000 people worldwide - designing, developing, marketing and selling the company's brands. The company was founded in 1975, and introduced the Vero Moda brand in 1987. In 2006/7 Bestseller’s turnover was EUR 1,397m* (USD 2,199m).
