DKK 9.5m in bridge funding gets iMotions' eyes twinkling

The Danish firm specialising in emotion-sensitive software tools has raised DKK 9.5 million in bridge funding to enable the company to accelerate sales
iMotions - Emotion Technology A/S, a Danish high-tech company specialising in the development and production of emotion-sensitive software tools, has announced that it has raised DKK 9.5m (USD 2m) in bridge funding to enable the company to accelerate sales before the next round of funding. In August last year, the company closed a fourth financing round that raised DKK 16m (USD 3.4m) in additional capital.
iMotions has developed Emotion Tool, a software that can measure emotional responses to visual stimuli such as print ads, direct marketing material, and brochures. The software, which also measures visual attention, uses data from a standard eye tracking monitor. It is currently marketed to the advertising and market research industries in 12 countries worldwide.
iMotions' CEO Peter Hartzbech says in a press release that the company is well-positioned to expand its sales efforts: “We have a new software release that is not only unique in measuring emotional response, but is the best in eye-tracking as well. We are focusing on bringing Emotion Tool 2.0 to large end clients and market research companies during Q4 2008.”
iMotions was founded in February 2005 and is based in central Copenhagen. The company currently employs 55 people in technology development in Denmark, software development in India, and sales in Denmark and the US (Chicago and Boston).
