Millions in EUDP funding for Danish fuel cell vehicle projects

The Danish EUDP is providing support funding for projects demonstrating the potential of fuel cell motive power solutions
H2 Logic and its collaboration partners are to receive USD 3.45m in funding from The Danish Energy Development & Demonstration Programme (EUDP). H2 Logic is a Jutland-based company specialising in systems and market integration for hydrogen fuel cell motive power solutions.
The support funding from EUDP will be deployed on three hydrogen and fuel cell projects, where the objective is to develop and demonstrate the potential of fuel cell hybrid systems and hydrogen refuelling stations for materials handling vehicles such as forklift trucks and smaller road vehicles.
Among the projects receiving support is LINK2009, where the aim is to develop 2nd generation fuel cell hybrid systems and hydrogen refuelling stations for smaller road vehicles with a demonstration in Denmark planned as part of the UN Climate Change Conference Meeting COP15 to be held in Copenhagen in December 2009.
The LINK2009 project involves the upgrading of 50 battery-powered cars so that they can be charged with electricity generated on-board by fuel cells. The necessary network of hydrogen refuelling stations is planned to be set up in time for the COP15 conference.
