Zepto Computers, a Danish supplier of laptop computers on a built-to-order concept, has launched the world's first wireless TV, reports Industriens Dagblad (The Industrial Sector's Daily Newspaper). The LCD TV series named Helios has a newly developed built-in wireless box from Linksys so the viewer only needs to connect the television to the power in order to watch TV. Helios has also been developed with energy saving technology, and tests show that it uses 25-30% less energy than corresponding LCD TVs.

"The launch of Helios is a vital milestone in our TV strategy. We are convinced that Helios with its unique design and technological lead will create increased demand for our LCD TVs both in Denmark and the rest of Europe," said CEO of Zepto Computers Lasse Frost to Industriens Dagblad. "Our objective is to be among the five leading manufacturers of LCD TVs in Europe within five years."

Frost anticipates that the launch of Helios will help Zepto Computers meet its objective of generating approx. 60% growth in 2008.

Zepto Computers manufactures and sells laptop PCs and LCD TVs. The company operates from Denmark and Sweden and is further represented via partners throughout 14 countries in Europe. In Q3, Zepto Computers generated revenues of DKK 47m (USD 9.4m).
