CPH Design wins prestigious US award for baggage handling system

CPH Design has won the prestigious American accolade "Good Design Award" for 2008 in the environment category for its 3B Cart System
Financial daily newspaper Børsen reports that CPH Design has won the prestigious American accolade "Good Design Award" for 2008 in the environment category for its 3B Cart System.
The patented 3B Cart System transports airline passenger baggage to and from the aircraft without the need for any manual lifting. CPH Design writes on its website that the 3B Cart system is designed to replace conventional manually-loaded baggage trolleys in order to improve airline safety and reduce the risk of lost baggage by carrying it securely in automatically loaded compartments. The system integrates with both aircraft and sorting hall to provide a full automation.
Commercial director of CPH Design commented to Børsen: "This award helps to give the stamp of approval to our design solution, and we are optimistic that the system will be taken up in other countries [besides Denmark] since all airports have baggage handling problems regarding costs and overburdening baggage handlers."
CPH Design confirms that it is already in negotiations with airports in Europe, and hopes to break into the US and Asian markets at a later point.
