Having established a lucrative niche in the Danish market, Apport Systems is now looking to expand its horizons to the Nordic regions as a whole
Warehouse management software (WMS)and hardware supplier Apport Systems is one Danish company whose business is thriving despite the broadening economic crisis. As financial daily newspaper Børsen reports, the company is gaining new customers as well as keeping existing ones, with gross profits for 2007/2008 up nearly 40% compared to the previous financial year.

Apport Systems has developed its own paperless WMS solution for reception, placing, picking, moving, counting and despatch including track and trace. It also integrates with all main ERP systems.

One of Denmark's major suppliers of commercial kitchens, Bent Brandt A/S in Århus, is one of Apport Systems' customers. In 2005 it invested in a new warehouse management system, which soon repaid itself. Morten Højholt, director of purchasing and logistics at Bent Brandt told Børsen that the solution from Apport Systems had more than met expectations.

Having established a lucrative niche in the Danish market, Apport Systems is now looking to expand its horizons to the Nordic regions as a whole, its first customer outside Denmark's borders being the Norwegian customer Enor, which operates in the same industrial segment as Bent Brandt. Apport Systems plans to open sales and support offices in both Norway and Sweden, writes Børsen.
