Wind energy developer Eurowind Energy A/S is on course to double its revenues this year, writes financial daily newspaper Børsen. The tough economic times have brought investors flocking to the Jutland-based firm which concentrates its activities on wind development projects in Europe. Together with its investors, Eurowind Energy is currently investing around DKK 700m (USD 140m) annually in developing and acquiring wind farm projects, particularly in Germany.

"There is no doubt that the crisis has increased interest in our projects," says director and co-founder Jens Rasmussen, who comments that total business activity in the last six months has been higher than in the previous year.

For the current year Eurowind Energy expects to generate a turnover of DKK 500-700m (USD 100-140m), compared with last year's figure of DKK 200m (USD 40m), which put DKK 15m (USD 3m) on the bottom line. On its website, the company states that it will continue to keep its main focus on Germany, but is also looking at Poland and the UK as countries that can give a safe return on investment in wind energy projects.
