A control system that can regulate light, heating, ventilation and all the electrical installations in a company or private dwelling has gained Danish company Flex-Control A/S a green IT prize
A unique and individually customised control system, that can regulate light, heating, ventilation and all the electrical installations in a company or private dwelling has gained Danish company Flex-Control A/S the green IT prize instituted by the Danish IT industry association Dansk IT and the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, reports Newsmarket.

The control system that Flex-Control has developed can easily be operated from a pc, laptop or mobile phone with internet access, and enables the user to remotely monitor or operate systems in a building or house from virtually any location in the world.

The system can warn users via sms of possible water leaks or other potentially damaging system failures, and can also help to control energy consumption. Newsmarket reports that one Danish customer has quickly recovered its investment through energy savings made by using the system to check that the temperature is lowered and all unnecessary lights are switched off at night and at weekends.

Newsmarket writes that a Flex-Control system installed in 761 holiday chalets at the Danish family holiday centre Lalandia has resulted in annual energy savings of 1985 MWh, corresponding to DKK 1.1m (USD 200,480).
