A film about Denmark as a shipping nation, "Det Blå Danmark" (Maritime Denmark), has landed a prestigious prize in the US. At the 30th Annual Telly Awards, the movie collected a gong in the Corporate Image category, leaving 13,000 competitor productions trailing in its wake, reports financial daily newspaper Børsen.

Maritime Denmark markets Denmark as a country with a commercial talent for shipping and a leading presence in the global shipping industry thanks to ambitious interplay between the corporate maritime sector and state agencies. The film was produced with support from the Danish Maritime Fund.

The film contains a number of clever technical features, such as a "film box" feature built into the DVD which enables users to put together their own customized version of the film from the large range of individual elements, and combine them with PowerPoint and PDF functionalities to produce a DVD-quality result.

The film was directed by Marcus Mandal, Jan Heidebo and Uffe Bryld from production company Citizen Dane, and was filmed in several locations worldwide including the US, Singapore and China.
