The US think tank Ethisphere has selected Danish medico company Novo Nordisk as one of the 2010 World's Most Ethical Companies, a designation which according to Ethisphere 'recognizes companies that truly go beyond making statements about doing business “ethically” and translate those words into action'.
The news is reported by national daily newspaper Berlingske Tidende.

Ethisphere chose Novo Nordisk and 99 other companies from more than 10,000 of the world's leading companies across six continents. Berlingske Tidende points out that the recognition of Novo Nordisk's work to uphold high ethical standards comes at a time when stories of unethical business practice frequently surface in the media.

Kåre Schultz, director of production, sales and marketing at Novo Nordisk, is delighted with the accolade. "It always gladdens us when an external organisation appreciates our efforts," he told Berlingske Tidende.

Other honorees in the 2010 World's Most Ethical Companies list were Google, Starbucks, Vodafone, IKEA and Accenture.
