Copenhagen-based Serious Games Interactive, which develops games designed to educate as well as entertain, has now turned a profit for the second year in succession, having been founded just four years ago, reports rapidus.dk.

Now the company is set to continue its success with the launch of "Playing History" which is being launched in full English, Danish and Swedish versions and is intended for use in schools as well as for private use. According to commercial director Mikkel Lucas Overby, the company's educational games are already being used in 200 Danish schools and 50 Swedish schools.

Serious Games Interactive says on its website that its games 'have a strong focus on integrating gaming and learning experiences' and that it uses technology 'to bring ideas to life'. The applications of its products span corporate, academic, cultural and market education.

Mikkel Lucas Overby told rapidus.dk that the company's plan for 2010 is to focus on launching Playing History in Europe, and grow the corporate client side of the business.
