Vestas receives 50 MW order from China

Vestas Wind Systems has announced that it has received an order from China's Heilongjiang province for 50 MW of wind energy
Vestas Wind Systems, the world's leading manufacturer of wind turbines, has announced that it has received an order from China's Heilongjiang province for 50 MW of wind energy. Details of the project's ownership have not been disclosed.
 
According to a Vestas statement, delivery of the turbines is planned for Q3 2010. The contract also includes commissioning and a two-year service and maintenance agreement.
 
“We are proud to partner once again with this customer, and we are eager to continue to build upon our partnership,” comments Jens Tommerup, president of Vestas China, in a press release. “Vestas is committed to our customer’s success and we are pleased that they have chosen our reliable and productive turbines. We will do our utmost to ensure that this relationship is long-lasting and mutually beneficial.”
 
Vestas is headquartered in Randers, Jutland, and employs over 20,000 people worldwide. The company has installed more than 40,000 wind turbines in 63 countries on five continents, and according to its website currently has a 12.5% share of the world market.
