in Copenhagen

2012.09.17

What does Denmark have to do to attract and retain investment? This was the key question discussed during the Foreign Investor Summit 2012 organized by AmCham Denmark and Invest in Denmark.

Minister for Trade and Investment Pia Olsen Dyhr

The event was kicked off by U.S. Ambassador Laurie S. Fulton, and featured a keynote adress by Danish Minister for Trade and Investment, Pia Olsen Dyhr. Minister Dyhr underscored the government’s commitment to the business community:

- “Denmark is open for business, and we are working intensively on improving the conditions for foreign investors,” said the Minister and outlined several new initiatives to support renewed growth including capital investment tax incentives, improved access to financing for small and medium enterprises, and an energy agreement for investment in sustainable energy.

The Foreign Investor Summit is an annual forum of private and public sector leaders, who share their thoughts and ideas related to the future of foreign investment in Denmark. AmCham and Invest in Denmark partnered on this year’s summit, which took place at the Foreign Ministry's conference center 'Eigtved’s Pakhus', and also included a presentation by top economist Joseph Quinlan who talked about the importance of the transatlantic relationship.
