The aEA contact office will help members join forces with the right Danish cooperation partners within design and innovation. Two companies in the Alliance are just now registering their businesses in Denmark, and with the new contact office, more Chinese companies are expected to follow in the near future. Initially, the Alliance will be hosted by the Danish Design Center (DDC) offering the perfect starting point for a network within the Danish design industry.

- “Denmark’s strong competencies within design and innovation will be of great value to the product development of Chinese companies, and with our new strategic partner, the Danish Design Center, we can assist our members in finding the right collaboration partners as a first step into the Danish design cluster”, says the initiator of aEA, Chairman Mr. Feng.

- “Denmark also provides good opportunities for partnerships with universities and design institutions in order to advance our products and brands for the future market needs,” continues Fen, who is also the Chairman of aigo, a leading Chinese consumer electronics company.

CEO Nille Jørgensen from the Danish Design Center sees great potential for mutually beneficial collaboration between Chinese companies and members of the Danish design cluster.

-“We are glad to be able to welcome aigo Entrepreneur Alliance and are looking forward to our future collaboration. This allows Chinese companies from aEA to tap into the Danish design community, and keeps Danish designers in the forefront of design innovation for global products." says Nille Juul-Sørensen, the CEO of DDC.

The Danish Design Center is Denmark’s knowledge centre for design. The Centre works closely with research institutions, designers, design companies and design centres in Denmark and abroad with the purpose of generating and disseminating knowledge about design processes, user-driven innovation, international trends and more.

Danish office to create mutual benefits and global brands

As the aEA grows, the intention is to find a bigger location for the incubator office which will additionally serve as a touch point for members of the aEA, the Danish business world and designers. One of the objectives of the Alliance is to obtain mutual benefits from complementary business resources and thereby help each other grow globally. Invest in Denmark introduced the aEA to Denmark, and Minister for Trade and Investment, Mrs. Pia Olsen Dyhr, is enthusiastic about the opportunities that the new Chinese Alliance creates:

-“It is very positive that the partnership has now materialized. There is a great potential with Denmark’s design cluster on one side and Chinese entrepreneurship and great market opportunities on the other. With the new contact office in Denmark, aigo Entrepreneur Alliance creates an excellent platform for the introduction of Chinese companies to the world-leading Danish design industry."

Denmark is renowned for its proud design tradition, but more importantly, the country is a frontrunner within design and user driven innovation. Using design as a driver for product development, spurs innovative, trend-setting products. This is a major advantage in a market, where the competition on price is intense, if the product is not unique.

aigo Entrepreneur Alliance is a network of several hundred Chinese companies with the overall objective to promote privately owned Chinese brands globally. Reinforcement of design driven product development is one of the tools to succeed in this mission. The members of the Alliance include leading companies within different industries such as electronics, maritime, real estate and clothes. The aEA selected Denmark as a potential location for a new member office after a European research tour last year.

Danish Design Center and aigo Entrepreneur Alliance will sign a MoU to confirm future cooperation in Copenhagen tomorrow. The signing of the agreement will coincide with the official visit of the President of the People’s Republic of China, Mr. Hu Jintao to Denmark 14-16 June 2012. Major Chinese companies like Huawei, Beijing Genome Institute and Envision Energy are already present in Denmark.
