Monocle:

Copenhagen is the Most Livable City in the World

2013.06.18

After being ranked no. 3 for two years in a row, Copenhagen now takes the prize as the most livable city according to the lifestyle magazine Monocle. Since 2007, Monocle has published its annual list of the world’s 25 best cities in terms of quality of life.

“World-conquering urban quality of life requires the trickiest of balancing acts between progress and preservation, stimulation and security, global and local. Perfection is unobtainable but Copenhagen is striking one of the best deals right now, “ it reads on Monocle’s website.

Important criteria in this survey are safety/crime, international connectivity, climate/sunshine, quality of architecture, public transportation, tolerance, environmental issues and access to nature, urban design, business conditions, pro-active policy developments and medical care.
