Georg Jensen Damask Launches New Collection Based on

Danish Design Students’ Designs

2013.07.10

Kolding School of Design and Georg Jensen Damask have cooperated on a course with second-year textile students. Based on a total of 14 projects, Georg Jensen Damask has now selected five designs that will form a collection to be launched in 2015.

The selected projects display innovative thinking in terms of design expression, product type and quality. Together the designs will add a breath of fresh air to the brand of Georg Jensen Damask.

- We are very excited to be working with Georg Jensen Damask and with the fact that Georg Jensen Damask recognises the talent of our students to the degree that they want to create a collection based on their designs, says Mathilde Aggebo, Head of the Deaprtment of Product Design at Kolding School of Design.

Apart from the honour of being awarded the Georg Jensen Damask Design Prize 2013, the five students will receive royalties.

Preparing the students to working as designers in real life is a key objective at Kolding School of design. This year’s 52 graduates have all developed their projects in collaboration with companies, organisations or public institutions.
