Denmark Most Attractive Destination

for Green Investments

2014.03.04

The latest Energy Investment Map published by PA Consulting Group shows that Denmark is now the most attractive country for investments in sustainable energy.

It is the Danish government’s ambitious energy strategy that positions Denmark ahead of the 30 other countries which are analysed in the energy map.

- “The Danish ambition is to be entirely free of fossil fuels by 2050, but already in 2020, the share of renewable energy should reach 35 % and half the electricity should be sourced from wind power. This creates first class conditions for cleantech investors, both in terms of know-how and a strong cluster, and because funding for cleantech projects is readily available,” explains Cleantech Team Leader Peter Plesner from Invest in Denmark.

- “We have built a very strong expertise within offshore wind turbines, and it is anchored both in Vestas and Siemens as well as Dong Energy. This expertise can be utilized in other parts of the world,” says Svend Ulrik Nyholm from PA Consulting Group to the Danish news agency Ritzau.

He highlights Goldman Sachs’ recent investment in Danish energy group 'Dong Energy' as a good example of the potential that foreign investors see in Denmark.

The Energy Map developed by PA Consulting is an efficient tool for investors and political decision makers who are looking for an overview of where they can expect the highest return on investment within green energy. Download the report here.
