Jeff Immelt believes Denmark plays an important role as a global green laboratory for new sustainable technologies

Jeff Immelt

Last week, the CEO of General Electric, Jeff Immelt, visited Denmark to meet key players within the Danish cleantech cluster. During his stay Immelt expressed that Denmark has an important role to play as a global laboratory for new green technologies. For this same reason, he suggested making Denmark a so-called “global accelerator lab for innovative technologies”, contributing to green change around the world.

“We need the Danish global clean technology accelerator. Let’s go!” said Immelt. He added that the initiative for such a project should come from Denmark.

The visit from the American top executive is in itself a remarkable acknowledgement of Denmark’s pioneering position within sustainable energy, energy efficiency and ambitious climate policies.
