Denmark is placed as no. 10 in the U.S. News' Best Countries ranking. Denmark especially excels within sub-categories regarding quality of life, business and entrepreneurship.
The overall findings of the survey highlight Denmark’s prominent position as an attractive country for doing business while at the same time allowing citizens to live a comfortable life.
Director of Invest in Denmark, Dorte Bech Vizard, says:
- “US News' Best Countries Ranking confirms that Denmark has a unique combination of an efficient business environment, a well-functioning public sector and high liveability. I hope that this will make more foreign companies consider Denmark.”
Forbes, The World Bank and Transparency International
Denmark’s good ranking is in line with recent findings of other ranking institutes: Just last month, Forbes Magazine for the second year in a row ranked Denmark no. 1 in their global league table ‘Best Countries for doing Business’.
Forbes has been publishing the ‘Best Country’ list for a decade and Denmark has been ranked first in six of the ten annual editions.
Similarly, the World Bank recently ranked Denmark first in Europe in their ‘Doing Business Report’. Last but not least, Denmark has been ranked no. 1 on the Corruption Perception Index of Transparency International for a consecutive number of years.
About the ‘Best Countries Ranking List’
The ‘Best Countries Ranking List’ is produced by U.S. News & World Report which is a global digital news and information company based in Washington.
Countries were ranked using data from a perception survey derived from more than 16.200 respondents from 36 countries worldwide. Respondents were asked to share their perceptions of 60 nations in terms of 65 specific country attributes.
The attributes were grouped into nine sub-rankings that rolled into the Best Countries ranking: Adventure, Citizenship, Cultural Influence, Entrepreneurship, Heritage, Movers, Open for Business, Power and Quality of Life. In addition, nations were ranked in ‘Best of’ lists including countries that are best to start a career, raise a family, receive an education, invest in, and more.
The full rankings and results of the report will be revealed today at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
