Copenhagen named Scandinavian City of the Future

International investment magazine fDi Magazine has chosen Copenhagen as the ’Scandinavian City of the Future’ in its latest publication August/September. The magazine has launched a competition entitled ’European City & Region of the Future 2004/05 Award’. Nine Scandinavian cities participated in the first round of the competition and from these Copenhagen emerged as a clear winner.

fDi Magazine looked at the performance of the cities across a number of categories including economic potential, investment climate, infrastructure, transport, IT, cost of living and life quality. Copenhagen was placed among the top 3 in virtually every category and turned out the overall winner. The Danish capital achieved a No.1 position in the following categories:

contribution to GNP, investments, transport and international schools. Copenhagen continues to the second round of the competition with cities such as Belfast, Moscow, Hamburg, Barcelona and Basel.
