Copenhagen Stock Exchange reports excellent progress in 2004

The value of Copenhagen Stock Exchange listed companies increased by DKK 111 bn in 2004

The Danish equity market grew in 2004, the Copenhagen Stock Exchange (CSE) has announced. Of 198 shares listed on CSE, 148 saw share prices rise in 2004. The value of the listed companies amounted to DKK 829 bn (USD 149 bn), an increase of DKK 111 bn (USD 20 bn) during the year [prices and market value are based on market data as of 21 December at the close of the trading system – Ed].

 

The KAX All-Share Index gained 20% in 2004, while the KFX Index comprising the 20 most actively traded stocks gained a healthy 14%. 2004 set a new record in share trading, amounting to DKK 583 bn (USD 105 bn) in market value, a 28% increase compared to the previous record set in 2000.
