CPH Design enters collaboration with leading Chinese university

CPH Design, a Danish innovation agency offering extensive design services to a wide range of industries and organisations, has signed a collaboration agreement with the internationally renowned College of Architecture and Urban Planning (CAUP) at Tongji University in Shanghai, China, writes financial daily newspaper Børsen. The agreement opens a door to Chinese projects and enables CPH Design to place a number of tasks with professors and students at CAUP.

 

Sam Steffensen of CPH Design says: "Our strength is innovation, while in China they are very skilful in design and have a good sense of local market needs." Steffensen also believes the collaboration will result in CPH Design using Chinese designers for projects in the West, and will make it easier for the firm to find new talent in China.

 

One of CPH Design's main focus areas is the aviation industry. Last weekend, China opened its first ever jumbo passenger aircraft company, the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China Ltd (CACC), which will be responsible for research, development, manufacture and marketing of home-grown large passenger aircraft. CACC will make use of the research scientists at Tongji University, which is a high-tech leader in China, and CPH Design hopes to get a foot in the door at CACC via its new university collaboration partner.
