Swedish bank poised to step into the Danish market

(2010.02.09)

The Swedish bank Nordnet, which is already used by many Danish customers for private share dealing, is planning to open a Danish affiliate this autumn

The Swedish bank Nordnet, which is already used by many Danish customers for private share dealing, is planning to take a step further into the Danish market by opening a formal Danish affiliate, reports national daily newspaper Jyllands-Posten.

According to Max Gandrup, Nordnet's Danish country manager, the move will provide benefits in relation to offering company pensions and reporting information regarding customer's tax returns.

"With an affiliate in Denmark we will also be able to move the majority of our employees in customer service and sales to Copenhagen," says Gandrup, who adds that Nordnet in Sweden is on its way to becoming a fully fledged netbank providing the full range of banking services for customers.

It is expected that Nordnet will launch its Danish affiliate during autumn this year.
