Copenhagen Airport's passenger traffic on the ascent

(2002.12.06)

Scheduled international passenger traffic through Copenhagen's Kastrup Airport has risen by nearly 3% compared with Jan – Nov 2001

Passenger traffic through Copenhagen's Kastrup Airport rose by 3.6% in November compared with the same month last year, reports national daily newspaper Jyllands-Posten. For the year to date there has been an overall 0.5% rise. While the volume of international charter flight traffic has predictably declined, international scheduled passenger traffic has risen by 2.8% compared with the January – November figure last year.

Situated just 7 kilometers from Central Copenhagen, Kastrup Airport is the most cost efficient airport in Northern Europe, with a 1-2-3 cargo handling strategy and a round-the-clock customs service geared to accelerating business and trade. Its efficiency is illustrated by the high number of shipments (92%) customs cleared en route. Kastrup also operates as the International hub for SAS and the Nordic/Eastern hub for DHL.
