Denmark's business angels subject of new survey(2002.12.17)Denmark's 1,700 business angels invest around DKK 1.7 billion annually, says the Danish Growth FundThe Danish Growth Fund has conducted a survey of Denmark's "business angels", capital-strong individual investors looking primarily for opportunities in entrepreneurial start-ups and early growth phase companies. A survey of 76 business angels revealed that collectively they have around DKK 600 million (USD 78 million) in investment-ready cash. 42% of the respondents said that they have already invested in software companies, and expect to make further investments in the same area. Computer hardware and IT services also figure strongly in their investment plans. The Danish Growth Fund estimates that there are around 1,700 business angels in Denmark, who annually invest up to DKK 1.7 billion (USD 220 million) in non-stock quoted companies. The average business angel is a man in his late 40s with around DKK 20 million (USD 2.6 million) in available capital.
